Educational Qualifications:
For Senior Nursing Officer / Staff Nurse Grade-I;
Essential Qualifications & Experiences : (i) B.Sc. Nursing (4 year course) from an Indian Nursing Council recognized Institute/University. OR B.Sc. (Post-certificate) or equivalent such as B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) from an Indian Nursing Council recognized Institute/University. (ii) Registered as Nurses & Midwife in State/ Indian Nursing Council. Experience : Three years of experience as Staff Nurse Grade-II after B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. (Post Certificate)/B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) in a minimum 200 bedded Hospital/Healthcare Institute.

For Nursing Officer / Staff Nurse Grade-II:
Essential Qualifications : (i) B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing/B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council recognized Institute or University. OR B.Sc. (Post-certificate)/Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council recognised Institute or University. (ii) Registered as Nurses & Midwife in State/Indian Nursing Council. OR (i) Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery from an Indian Nursing Council recognized Institute/Board or Council. (ii) Registered as Nurses & Midwife in State/Indian Nursing Council. (iii) Two years’ experience in minimum 50 bedded Hospital after acquiring the education qualification mentioned above.

Note :- 1. The candidates those who have applied earlier in response to our Advt. No. AIIMS/BBSR/Admin.-II/2017/05 dtd. 05.05.2017 need not apply again, if they fulfill revised qualifications and experiences and other eligibility criteria as applicable as per this advertisement. Candidates those who have applied against earlier advertisement dated 05.05.2017 for the post of Staff Nurse Grade-I not fulfilling the education qualifications and experiences of “Three years of experience as Staff Nurse Grade-II after B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. (Post Certificate)/B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic)

in a minimum 200 bedded Hospital/Healthcare Institute” as advertised in this advertisement will not be eligible for the said post. 2. Application Process:-The aspiring applicants satisfying the eligibility criteria in all respect can submit their application only through ON-LINE mode. The On-line registration of application is made available on AIIMS, Bhubaneswar official website i.e., http://www.aiimbhubaneswar.edu.in. The link for submission of online applications in respect of above said posts alongwith other relevant information will be activated on the date of advertisement on Employment News/Rojgar Samachar or earlier (as posted on the website). The last date of online submission of applications will be 25th December, 2017. In case the last date falls on weekly off or holidays, then the last date of submission of application will be shifted to the next working days (upto 5.00 P.M.). No documents including online application form is required to be sent, however, all the applicants are advised to keep a copy of online application form with them alongwith proof of payment (a copy of challan/online payment receipt) for their record for future reference.

NMC makes Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) process more flexible

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has announced changes to its application process for nurses and midwives trained outside EU/EEA. These changes will provide additional flexibility by increasing the number of times a nurse or midwife can sit a key component of the test they need to pass in order to practise in the UK.

In order to join the NMC’s register, nurses and midwives trained outside the EU/EEA must successfully take a two-part test of competence, the second of which is the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) in the UK. Currently, any nurse or midwife failing to pass the OSCE at their first attempt can re-sit ten days later. If they fail the exam for a second time their application closes and they must wait six months before re-applying.

We understand that this can put considerable pressure on candidates on Tier 2 immigration visas, with applicants either having to start the application again within a tight timeframe or leave the country, where they do not have six months left on their visa and over the changes we have made aim to increase flexibility in this area.

From 6 April 2017 nurses and midwives submitting a new registration application will have the opportunity to sit an OSCE for a third time if they need to, waiting three months to allow for further preparation, all within the same application. This change will bring our overseas registration process in line with the eight month time limit permitted by their visa to successfully complete their OSCE.

Jackie Smith, chief executive and registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, said:

“We want to ensure that all nurses and midwives with the right skills and knowledge can join our register regardless of where they were trained.

“Coming to work in a new country can be daunting and we want to make it is as straightforward as possible for nurses and midwives to demonstrate that they can meet the standards required to work in the UK.

“We have listened carefully to feedback from our stakeholders and introduced changes which will help to streamline the process for those coming from overseas allowing them to focus on what matters most – sitting their exams.”
